Mission
WELCOME TO ELMWOOD COMMUNITY SCHOOLS
Our Mission Statement is as follows: “In an active partnership with parents and community, the mission of the Elmwood School District is to provide a positive and supportive environment that vigorously develops the minds and character of 21st Century learners.” We believe that our community, parents, staff and students embody this ideal on a daily basis, and are key in making Elmwood a premier district.
The Core Values of our District are also important pillars that guide our efforts in making our schools great:
Learning is a cooperative effort between students, parents, school, and community. The success of our schools is built upon the relationships and partnerships that exist within and beyond the boundaries of our district.
All students can achieve academic success when they are given the opportunity and when teachers are provided the proper resources and professional development. The staff and administration have immersed themselves in providing a curriculum that challenges students, offers opportunities to deliver instruction through a technological platform, and creates pathways for success for present and future endeavors.
Students should have high expectations of themselves and others. Being an Elmwood Trojan is something to be proud of, and with that, comes high expectations for all who are a part of the Trojan family. #trojanforce322
All educators should provide every child with an engaging and supportive, real-world learning environment. Our staff continues to exemplify commitment to our profession and to our kids by providing relevant content through a caring methodology to best prepare students for college and career readiness.
?
All educators should challenge and motivate every student to reach his or her highest potential. We expect a great deal of our students and believe that when we raise the proverbial bar of expectation, our students will successfully meet that challenge.
Students should be respectful, polite, and should demonstrate good citizenship toward self, peers, and faculty/staff. Character is an essential element of what makes Elmwood students engaged, productive and successful. Community Day, for example, is a day that allows students to give back to our fellow community members through volunteerism, and is just one of so many examples of students (and staff) showing good citizenship.
Every student is a unique individual that learns in different ways. With changes in curriculum, technology, and an evolving understanding of the way children learn, our staff is consistently learning how to better meet the needs of all students, in an individualized manner that creates the best possible opportunities to achieve success.
It is my hope that this gives you a solid picture of what it means to be an Elmwood Trojan! There are so many great things happening in our schools and in our community, and I am proud to be a part of such an amazing school district. If you ever want to learn more about our district, please contact me or stop in to see all the great things that are happening!
Educationally Yours,
Dr. Chad M. Wagner
