Nickname - PURPLE RAIDERS

 

September 23, 1857 - Bloomington High School officially opens

1890 - BHS adopts official school colors of PURPLE and GOLD

1897 - BHS athletics hold first competitions against other schools

1899 - BHS claims STATE CHAMPIONSHIP in football over Rockford.

1910 - BHS wins Boys Basketball STATE CHAMPIONSHIP over Rock Island.   Also, BHS plays NCHS in basketball for the first time.  

1915 - BHS wins Boys Basketball STATE CHAMPIONSHIP over Robinson High School.

1930 - BHS Boys Basketball finishes 2nd in STATE after lossing to Peoria Manual in Championship game.

1953 - BHS Baseball finishes 2nd in State.

1964 - BHS Boys Golf wins STATE CHAMPIONSHIP.

1965 - Boys Golf wins 2nd STATE CHAMPIONSHIP.
