Mission

It is our belief that Dixon High School athletic programs contribute to sound educational objectives and serve as an integral part of the school’s total curriculum. Creating an environment in which our athletic programs are organized and conducted properly, contributes to the overall educational goals of the school and to the personal needs of our students.

We believe that winning is a major objective in athletics, as it is in our society, and that a team or performer shall always strive to win within the framework and spirit of the rules of the game and the principles of good sportsmanship.  Although winning in sports is a major objective and a tremendous motivating force at the time, it is not considered to be the end goal of athletic participation.

Dixon High School believes that a strong athletic program develops athletes and teams that represent their school and community personally.  The lasting benefits from athletic participation include: a desire to achieve excellence, the ability to accept winning and defeat, a willingness to make personal sacrifices for the benefit of others, living a more healthful and purposeful life, living by a higher code of conduct, and a willingness to work hard for future goals.
